Founded in 1823 the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) is one of Ireland's principal public art galleries, hosting world-class exhibitions of Irish and international artists. The RHA holds a unique position in Irish culture as the oldest artist-led visual arts institution in the country; one where art is created, exhibited and debated.
The Gallery provides a vital platform for contemporary Irish art and artists, and admission is always free.
The RHA Annual Exhibition presents the largest opportunity to reach new audiences with over 56,300 visitors attending the show last year. An unprecedented number of free public talks, tours, lectures, and events are also centred around the exhibition which showcases the work of over 380 artists and more than 500 individual works of art.
This unparalleled level of free, public activity during the Annual Exhibition allows the RHA to ensure that maximum accessibility and inclusion are at the heart of all of our programming.
